Stepinac: A new beginning
An end of an era has come here at Archbishop Stepinac, and it is the Msgr. Anthony Marchitelli era. The Monsignor was reassigned to a parish in the Bronx at the end of the 2010-2011 school year. He had been there since 2003.
The school has a new President in office. His name is Father Thomas Collins. He has worked at Stepinac since 1995. Father Collins graduated Stepinac in 1979. Growing up, he lived right across the street from the school. He went to OLS grade school right down the street from Archbishop Stepinac high school.
Life at Archbishop Stepinac has changed: scheduling has been revamped, and seniors given their own lunch period. New teachers were also added, with five teachers leaving since last year ended, including Monsignor. Some of the new teachers are graduates of Stepinac.
