Long Island Football Championships
The following are the Long Island Football Championship matchups.
Class I:
(S3) Floyd 54, (N2) East Meadow 47
Class II:
(N1) Garden City 7, (S4) Newfield 14
Mike Silva and Julian Santiago each scored touchdowns from the goal line as Newfield knocked off previously undefeated Garden City in the Class II Long Island Championshi[ on Friday night at Hofstra.
Class III:
(S1) Sayville 78, (N2) Lawrence 61
Zach Sirico ran for 224 yards and six touchdowns and John Haggart ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns, plus caught a screen pass for a 25-yard TD, as Sayville completed a perfect season with a 12-0 record and a Long Island Championship game scoring record. The Golden Flashes were 12-0. Lawrence (10-2) was led by quarterback Joe Capobianco, who set LIC records with 541 yards and seven TD passes.
Class IV:
(N2) Roosevelt 21, (S1) Glenn 56
Tommy Forsberg had 88 yards and four touchdowns and Nick Wagner added two total touchdowns as Glenn beat Roosevelt, 56-21, in the Class IV Long Island Championship on Friday at Hofstra.
