Saddle Brook receives five placements in Caldwell College Photo Show

Expanding from the walls of Saddle Brook High School, students submitted their best work, personally picked by Ms. Pritchard to be submitted into the Caldwell College Photo Show. The basis of the Photo Show is an experience to compete with other high school works from northern New Jersey.

This year 36 accolades were awarded in total for respective first, second, and third place winners. Saddle Brook participants received five total placements compared to last year’s sole placement.  Saddle Brook students received the highest amount of placements out of all of the participating schools this year. The school’s winners were Destiny Rodriguez and Marissa Saslowsky (first place), Marissa Meramo (second place), and Aisha Ahmed and Megan Marsico (third place).

This year, a total of 17 schools participated, submitting roughly 340 pieces of artwork. Per school, a limit of 20 artworks are selected and allowed to be submitted to compete. However, this art show doesn’t exclusively display works of photography but other works in the categories of drawings, paintings, sculptures, digital arts, plus more.

“I thoroughly enjoy participating in the Caldwell show each year,” Ms. Pritchard said. “I choose our top 20, bring them to the college and display them, wait for the winners to be announced, go to the awards ceremony if we win, and then remove the artwork. It is a time consuming process but completely worth it!”
