PC track star Jacobs commits to Georgia
Paramus Catholic track star Myasia Jacobs verbally committed to the University of Georgia this past week.
Jacobs, who once graced the cover of MSG Varsity The Magazine, selected the Bulldogs over LSU, Clemson and dozens of other high Division I schools.
The 5-foot-5 Jacobs has received not only local accolades and success, but is turning heads on the Olympic level, placing first in a trilateral meet with Germany and Japan in Osaka earlier this year.
Jacobs has won the 100 and 200 meters at the Meet of Champions for each of the past three seasons in New Jersey, and as a senior has her eyes set on national records.
She has dominated like few others in her strongest events, having never been beaten in New Jersey in the 100 or 200. She has broken records at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions and she has been an AAU National Champion.
Jacobs also won the 100 dash in 11.63 at the World Youth Track and Field Trials last June in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Everyone else will be running for second when they line up against Jacobs in 2012.
