Lawrenceville grabs Prep A championship
Walker Kirby and Nick Minno netted three goals apiece and Steffan Gratch scored twice to power Lawrenceville to a 12-5 victory over Peddie in the championship of the state Prep A Tournament Monday afternoon in Lawrenceville.
Lawrenceville (15-3) snapped up its 11th consecutive Prep A title and won the championship for the 37th time. Peddie fell to 6-13.
Brendan Newman and Mark Leonhard each came up with one goal and three assists for Lawrenceville, which charged out to a 10-4 lead in the opening half.
William Schwartz scored four goals for Peddie. Charlie Gallagher halted eight shots and Matt O'Connor stopped one for Lawrenceville.
