Yes, Lucas Woodhouse does practice those plays.

The stellar Harborfields point guard reached deep into his bag of magic tricks for some flashy, crowd-pleasing passes Wednesday night as the aptly named Tornadoes were a whirling, unstoppable force in a 102-69 victory over Center Moriches in the Suffolk Small Schools final at Farmingdale State.

"That's what practice is for. To try those passes so if you get the chance, you can use them in a game," said Woodhouse, who had 18 assists and 18 points to lead Suffolk A champ Harborfields. "We were comfortable. We had a big lead. In games like this, you can try those passes and not have to be afraid of a turnover."

Several of Woodhouse's early assists had a high degree of difficulty. A no-look feed to David Ba, a backdoor alley-oop to Ba and the play of the night -- a dribble-drive move down the lane in traffic that finished with a no-look pass that had a twist. He found John Patron underneath with a behind-the-head pass. "Tonight was definitely fun," Woodhouse said. "We could let loose."

Harborfields (18-2) took control with a 13-0 first-quarter spurt and didn't let up, shooting an amazing 71 percent from the field (42-for-62). Patron led 24 points (and 12 rebounds). Justin Ringen had 17 points, Ba 12 and Kevin Zabransky 11. Akyse Brown scored 25 for Suffolk B champ Center Moriches (14-7). By halftime it was 60-32.

"Let's just say Luke was trying to make things happen," Harborfields coach Chris Agostino said.

Harborfields advances to the Suffolk final at 7:30 p.m. Friday at State against Class AA champ Floyd. More importantly, it hopes to return to the state tournament at Glens Falls with a victory in the state Class A Regional final on March 10 at Hofstra against the winner of Saturday's Nassau A title game between South Side and Jericho. Center Moriches' next game is in the Class B state Regional semifinals against Locust Valley on March 6 at State.
