LONG ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP

Saturday, June 2 (at Hofstra University)

(S1) West Islip 11, (N2) Syosset 4

West Islip (19-1) defeated Syosset (14-5) in the Class A Long Island Championship at Hofstra. West Islip advances to the state semifinals to face Niskayuna at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hofstra.

FINALS

Tuesday, May 29 (at Hofstra University)

(2) Syosset 14, (1) Massapequa 13

No. 2 Syosset (14-4) defeated No. 1 Massapequa (15-3) in the Nassau Class A final at Hofstra. It is the first county title since 2008 and third overall for Syosset (14-4) which faces the winner of West Islip/Ward Melville in Long Island Championship at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Hofstra.

SEMI-FINALS

May 22-23 (at Hofstra University)

(1) Massapequa 14, (5) Port Washington 5

Sophomore Ian Kirby scored a career-high seven goals to lead No. 1 Massapequa (15-2) over No. 5 Port Washington (9-8) in a Nassau Class A semifinal at Hofstra. Massapequa advances to the finals for the third straight year to face the winner of Syosset/Baldwin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hofstra.

Ryan Hunter scored six goals and John Diaz added three goals and won 12-of-20 face-offs, as No. 2 Syosset (13-4) beat No. 3 Baldwin (11-6) in a Nassau Class A semifinal game at Hofstra. Syosset will play No. 1 Massapequa for the Class A title at Hofstra Tuesday May 29 at 5:30 p.m.

May 14-15 (at Hofstra University)

(1) Massapequa 14, (8) Hicksville 1

No. 1 Massapequa defeated No. 8 Hicksville in the Nassau Class A quarterfinals at Hofstra. Massapequa (14-2) advances to face No. 5 Port Washington in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. next Tuesday at Hofstra.

(5) Port Washington 13, (4) Farmingdale 9

Jake Froccaro scored five goals and had an assist to lead No. 5 Port Washington (9-7) over No. 4 Farmingdale (7-8) in the Nassau Class A quarterfinals at Hofstra. The Vikings advance to semifinals to face No. 1 Massapequa at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday May 22 at Hofstra.

(3) Baldwin 9, (6) East Meadow 4

Austin Valenti had a goal and three assists and Brett Dadiego made nine saves as No. 3 Baldwin won a Nassau Class A quarterfinal game at Hofstra. The Bruins (11-5) will face Syosset on May 23 at Hofstra. No. 6 East Meadow finished 8-8.
