    (S1) Brentwood 1, (N5) Syosset 0

    Jonathan Interiano scored for the Indians as Brentwood won the Long Island Class AA Championship over Syosset.

     

    FINAL

    Monday, November 12

    (5) Syosset 1, (2) Massapequa 0

    Senior Shane Mandel scored his fourth goal of the post season off a cross from Nico Valentino in the 12th minute to lift No. 5 Syosset (15-2-1) past second-seeded Massapequa (14-2-1) in the Nassau Class AA Final at Adelphi. Senior goalie Josh Haberman made three saves in the shutout. Syosset will face Brentwood in the Long Island Championship on Wednesday at Dowling at 6:30 p.m.

     

    SEMIFINALS

    Saturday, November 10

    (5) Syosset 4, (8) Port Washington 3

    Tied at 3 with 7:00 left, Scott DeBenedittis scored his second goal on a penalty kick to give No. 5 Syosset (14-2-1) the win over No. 8 Port Washington in the semifinals of the Nassau Class AA Playoffs. Syosset will face No. 2 Massapequa in the county final on Monday at Adelphi at 3 p.m.

    (2) Massapequa 1, (6) Plainview-JFK 0

    Jamie Macchia scored off an assist from John Romano in the eighth minute for No. 2 Massapequa (14-1-1) in a Nassau Class AA semifinal. Massapequa will play Syosset in the finals Monday 3 p.m. at Adelphi.

     

    QUARTERFINALS

    Friday, November 9

    (8) Port Washington 2, (1) Elmont 1

    Shogo Yamomoto scored the game winning goal on an assist from Areeb Azam in the 76th minute to lead No. 8 Port Washington (8-5-3) over No. 1 Elmont in the quarterfinals of the Class AA Nassau County boys playoffs. Port Washington will play Syosset on Saturday Nov. 10 at Cold Spring Harbor at 12:30pm.

    (5) Syosset 5, (4) Calhoun 0

    Shane Mandel had two goals and an assist and Justin Nho had a goal and an assist to lead No. 5 Syosset (13-2-1) over No. 4 Calhoun in a Nassau Class AA quarterfinal. Syosset moves on to play Port Washington on Saturday, Nov. 10.

    (6) Plainview-JFK 1, (3) MacArthur 0

    Jordan Sklar scored in the 68th minute, breaking a scoreless tie. Zachary Zeises assisted on the goal. David Geyer made seven saves to lead (6) Plainview JFK over (3) MacArthur in the Nassau AA quarterfinals. Plainview JFK (11-1-2) will face (2) Massapequa on Saturday at 3pm.

    (2) Massapequa 2, (7) Hicksville 1

    Tied at 1 with 28:42 left, Scott Pemberton scored off an assist from Tyler Keogh to give No. 2 Massapequa (13-1-1) the win over No. 7 Hicksville (12-2-3) in the quarterfinals of the Nassau Class AA Playoffs. Massapequa will face the winner of No. 3 MacArthur and No. 6 Plainview JFK in the semifinals on Saturday at Cold Spring Harbor High School at 3 p.m.

     

    FIRST ROUND

    Friday, October 26 (at higher seed)

    (8) Port Washington 5, (9) Long Beach 1

    Hayden Braider scored two goals as part of a 4-0 second half for No. 8 Port Washington (7-4-2) in its win over No. 9 Long Beach (7-6) in the first round of the Nassau class AA playoffs. Port Washington will play at No. 1 Elmont, Tuesday.

    (5) Syosset 3, (12) Great Neck South 2

    Scott DeBenedittis tied the game in the 65th minute on a penalty kick and Shane Mandel scored the game winner on an assist from DeBenedittis in the 77th minute to lead No. 5 Syosset (12-2-1) over No. 12 Great Neck South in the first round of the Nassau Class AA playoffs. Syosset will play No. 4 Calhoun on Tuesday.

    (6) Plainview-JFK 1, (11) Uniondale 0

    Jesse Randisi scored the winning goal in the 15th minute off a free kick from Brian Stone to lift No. 6 Plainview JFK (10-1-2) over No. 11 Uniondale in the first round of the Nassau AA playoffs. David Geyer had seven saves including a crucial save with three minutes left to preserve the shutout. Plainview JFK advances to the second round where they will play at No. 3 MacArthur on Tuesday Oct. 30.

    (7) Hicksville 4, (10) Baldwin 1

    Kyle Poetzsch had two goals and Michael Osmundsen had another all within a two-minute span to lead No. 7 Hicksville (12-1-3) over No. 10 Baldwin in the first round of the Nassau AA playoffs. Hicksville will face No. 2 Massapequa in the second round on Tuesday.
