MacArthur Skate-a-Thon raises $2,000
On December 12, MacArthur held a Skate-A-Thon to help raise money for people affected by Hurricane Sandy. The event helped raise roughly $2,000. This money was donated to young students in an elementary school in Long Beach affected by Hurricane Sandy.
MacArthur teacher, Mrs. Sanchez, put the event together with the help of Ms. Reynolds and Mr. Farney. All of the students and staff at MacArthur were invited for an admission price of $8.
MacArthur's Peer Leaders helped raise money by individually selling tickets and asking for donations. All of the Peer Leaders and many students and staff members with their families attended this event.
Everyone that came to the event said they had a great time.
