Live game primer: Elmont at Chaminade boys hoops
It's a holiday matinee boys basketball contest as Chaminade plays host to defending Nassau County finalist Elmont on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Opening tip off is slated for 2:00 p.m. from the Chaminade Athletic & Activities Center in Mineola, NY.
Chaminade is looking for its first two-game winning streak since December 27 and 28 when the Flyers downed Floral Park and Manhasset in non-league contests.
The Bob Paul-led squad is coming off a strong win over its archrival St. Anthony's on Friday night, 69-64. Brian Ehrhardt led the team with 19 points and five rebounds while Jon Patterson had 18 points and 8 rebounds.
Elmont is a team that has caught on fire lately and are winners of its last five games by defeating Long Beach, Bellmore-JFK, Mepham, Carey and Herricks. Time Lewis led the Spartans in their most recent victory over Long Beach and the Marines with 21 points while Marc Campbell had 12 close behind.
