All-Long Island girls badminton team

Player of the year

Elizabeth Kallenberg, sophomore, Port Washington
Kallenberg had an overall record of 18-0 and won the Nassau singles championship with a 21-6, 21-14 win in the final. She also led Port Washington to a 14-1 record and the Nassau title, winning her match 16-21, 21-8, 21-4 in the championship match against defending champion Calhoun.

Singles

Hannah Finger, senior, Half Hollow Hills
Finger had an overall record of 18-1 this season with her lone loss coming in the county final. One of the best badminton players in school history, Finger ends her career with a 45-2 record and two individual county titles and helped lead Half Hollow Hills to three straight county championships.

Julie Catone, junior, Lindenhurst
Went 14-3 overall and won a hard-fought match, 11-4, 10-13, 11-1, in the county final to win the Suffolk singles title.

Doubles
Gina Augusta (junior) and Carly Cordano (sophomore), Half Hollow Hills
Augusta and Cordano won their first Suffolk doubles championship, winning 15-11, 15-12 in the county final. The top-seeded team in the tournament, the duo had an overall record of 18-1 this year.

Claudia Lim and Rebecca Shum, juniors, Great Neck South
Went 14-4 overall and won the Nassau doubles championship with a 16-21, 21-19, 21-17 win in the final.

Coach of the year: Lisa Albert, Half Hollow Hills
Coached Half Hollow Hills to a third straight Suffolk championship and undefeated season (15-0). Under Albertís leadership, Hills has won 45 straight matches dating back to 2009.
