    Scarsdale 6, Rye 4

    At the Playland Ice Casino, No. 8-seeded Scarsdale (15-8) outscored No. 4-seeded Rye (14-6-2) 4-0 in the third period en route to a 6-4 upset victory. Freshman phenom James Nicholas paced the Raiders with two goals and an assist. Teammates Devon Schell (2G), Travis Misarti (2A), Hunter Jurman (1G, 1A), Stuart Hindmarch (1G), Sam Blakley (1A) and Ian Klein (1A) rounded out the offensive production. Goalie Connor Wolfe made 24 saves to preserve the win. Hindmarch, a junior forward, scored off an assist from Misarti to break a 4-4 tie with 7:47 left in the third period. It was just Hindmarch's second goal of the season. Michael Benincasa had a goal and two assists to pace Rye, which jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead roughly 11 minutes into the opening period. Teammates Cal Hynson (2A), Ryan Rogers (1G), Griffin Tutun (1G), Jack O'Brien (1G) and Kirk Holmes (1A) also contributed. The Raiders, who have never won a Section 1 title, will square off against No. 2-seeded Pelham in Sunday's Division 2 final at West Point's Tate Rink. It marks Scarsdale's first trip to the title game since the 2004-05 season. Ironically, the Raiders lost to Pelham, 5-1, that year.

    Pelham 4, John Jay-Cross River 0

    At the Ice Hutch, No. 2-seeded Pelham (15-5-2) blanked No. 3-seeded John Jay-Cross River (15-6-1), 4-0, to advance to Sunday's Section 1 Division 2 championship game at West Point's Tate Rink. The Pelicans will square off against No. 8-seeded Scarsdale. Against the Indians, senior forward Danny Shea led the way with a game-high two goals and two assists. Teammates Colin Reilly (1G, 3A), Will Cullen (1G) and Andrew Schauer (1A) also contributed. Goalie Josh Borofsky stopped 15 shots to record the shutout. John Jay-CR netminder Matt Lanza made 30 saves. The Pelicans will be gunning for their second straight Division 2 title and fifth in eight years. Overall, the program has won six sectional crowns.

    ETB 5, New Rochelle 3

    At the Ice Hutch, No. 2-seeded ETB (19-3) outscored No. 3-seeded New Rochelle (16-8) 3-1 in the third period en route to a 5-3 victory. Mark Luciano paced the Eagles with a team-high two goals and added an assist. Teammates Ian Palfrey (1G, 2A), Chris Hagen (1G, 1A), Joe Blute (1G), Frankie Sherding (1A) and James McNamara (1A) rounded out the offensive production. Goalie Lucas Berger made 33 saves to preserve the win. For the Huguenots, Brett Barry was the standout with a hat-trick. Teammates Nick Sioufas (2A), Kenny McLean (1A) and Greg Feliu (1A) also contributed. Feliu also made an impressive 42 saves in net to keep it close. ETB will square off against top-seeded Suffern in the finals on Sunday at West Point's Take Rink at 4 p.m.

    Suffern 3, Mamaroneck 0

    At Sport-O-Rama, No. 1-seeded Suffern (18-2-2) posted a 3-0 shutout victory over No. 4-seeded Mamaroneck (13-11). The Mounties got a balanced offensive effort with a goal apiece from Willie Sanchez, John Costa and Greg Dgheim. Robert Clark, John Redgate, Ian Adler and Kevin Haggerty each added an assist. Goalie Tyler Stark made 12 saves and has yet to let up a goal in two playoff games. Mamaroneck netminder Brett Poniros was impressive and kept the Tigers competitive with 29 saves. Suffern will square off against No. 2-seeded ETB in the finals on Sunday at West Point's Take Rink at 4 p.m.
