What an impressive start to the season for the defending Class AA champs, who blew past Brewster 14-2.

2 Pearl River 1-0 2

Amanda Hartigan homered and drove in three runs as the Pirates won their opening on Tuesday, routing Greeley 9-0 at home. Not a bad way to open their title defense.

3 Ursuline 0-0 3

The Koalas open their season on Thursday with Ardsley before traveling over spring break.

4 Ketcham 0-0 4

The Indians start on April 10 with a date at Brewster.

5 Eastchester 1-0 5

The Eagles opened their season on Tuesday with a 14-3 victory over Ardsley. Kristin Martin had three RBI and Taylor DelGatteo had four hits.

6 Harrison 0-0 6

The Huskies don’t open their season until next Tuesday when they host Scarsdale. They’ll get a great early-season test with New Rochelle two days later.

7 North Rockland 0-0 7

The season doesn’t get underway for the Red Raiders until next week. They’ll be challenged in three straight home games, facing Section 9 power Cornwall and Class B contenders Albertus Magnus and Valhalla.

8 Clarkstown South 1-0 NR

The veteran Vikings exploded in their first game, defeating Nanuet 16-3. Alana Kurtti drove in three wins in the win.

9 Minisink Valley 1-0 NR

Very solid opener for Minisink, which beat Monroe-Woodbury on Tuesday 4-2. This team could compete with Valley Central for a Section 9 Class AA title.

10 Tappan Zee 1-0 9

A season of high expectation started strong on Tuesday. The Dutchies rallied past Suffern for a 7-4 victory.
