At SUNY Cortland, Arlington's quest for the program's first state title came up just short. Jill Mulholland tallied the game's lone goal with 28:20 left in the first half for Section 8's MacArthur (18-2). The Admirals finished up the season with a record of 19-3-1.

At Homer High School, Arlington (19-2-1) cruised to a shutout win over Section 2's Bethlehem (15-4-2). Allie Pushkarsh tallied the game's lone goal off a cross from Miranda Tarpey in the 44th minute. The Admirals were stifling on defense, limiting the Eagles to an astounding zero shots on goal. Arlington — which is in search of the program's first state title — will square off against MacArthur (Section 8) in the state finals on noon Sunday at SUNY Cortland (Red Field).

South Side 1, Somers 0 (4OT)

At Homer High School, Somers lost a heartbreaker to Section 8's South Side. Katie Ford helped the Cyclones (15-2-4) avoid a shared state title, scoring the golden goal on a header with 61 seconds left in the fourth and final overtime period. Ford tracked down the ball near the top of the box, running onto a bouncing through ball. She then collided with a Somers defender and keeper Beth Coppolecchia, who came charging off her line to try and break it up. The ball then ball slowly rolled into the net, giving South Side its eighth state title since 2000 and astounding 16th overall. Coppolecchia was easily Somers' MVP, turning in another clutch performance. She made five of her 11 saves in overtime. The Tuskers, who were chasing their first state title, finished the year with a record of 20-2-1.

At Tompkins-Cortland Community College, Somers (20-1-1) blanked Section 2's Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (17-5). Melissa Righetti scored the game's lone goal in the 14th minute. Tuskers keeper Beth Coppolecchia was spectacular in net, making seven of her nine saves in the second half. Somers — which is in search of the program's first state title — will square off against South Side (Section 8) in the state finals on Sunday at Homer High School at 1 p.m. The Cyclones, who cruised to a 5-2 victory over Williamsville South (Section 6), have won seven NYS titles since 2000.

At SUNY Cortland, Schalmont (20-0) showcased its explosive offense in an impressive win over the defending NYS Class B champs. Sabres scoring sensation Megan Strijek took over after halftime, burying all three of her goals in the second half. iana Dicocco rounded out the scoring for Schalmont, giving the Sabres a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute. The four goals were the most Bronxville (17-2-2) had given up since suffering a 4-1 loss to Class AA power Scarsdale in its season opener. The Broncos relinquished just two goals over their next 19 games, including four shutout wins in the playoffs.

At Yorktown High School, Section 1's Arlington was impressive in a shutout win over Section 9's Washingtonville. Standout Shannon Palmer gave the Admirals a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute. Arlington then tacked on a goal late in the second half to seal it. The Admirals advanced to the state final four for the first time in program history and will square off against Section 2's Bethlehem on Saturday, November 19 at Homer High School at 1:30 p.m.

At Yorktown High School, Section 1's Somers edged Section 9's Cornwall in a sudden-death overtime thriller. Melanie Anes scored the golden goal off an assist from Julia Djokic to lift the Tuskers into the NYS Class A semifinals. Somers will square off against Burnt Hills (Section 2) on Saturday, November 19 at TC3 at 1:30 p.m. Bridget Reilly gave the Tuskers a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute, scoring off an assist from Melissa Rodriguez. Cornwall's Lexi Modlinski scored the equalizer off an assist from Andrea Mancuso with 20:12 left in the opening half. But Tuskers keeper Beth Coppolecchia would not get beat again, turning in another stellar performance with 13 saves. Somers — which suffered a slew of injuries to key players — will look to persevere as it chases the program's first state title.

At Yorktown High School, defending NYS champ Bronxville edged Oneonta, which entered the game as the No. 1-ranked team in the NYS Class B poll. Shannon Crawford tallied the lone goal with 50 seconds left in the first half off an assist from Jessica Tarangioli. Keeper Grace Devlin made five saves to preserve the shutout. The Broncos will square off against Schalmont (Section 2) in the state semifinals on Saturday, November 19 at SUNY Cortland at 5 p.m.
