Livecast primer: New Canaan 7 on 7 tourney

MSGVarsity.com will be live-streaming the semifinals and finals of New Canaan High School's fifth annual Grip It & Rip It Passing Camp on Saturday beginning at 3:15 p.m.

The 7 on 7 event is one of the area's premier summer football showcases and will feature dozens of teams from Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts.

Teams from the Connecticut Region that have committed include FCIAC schools New Canaan, Greenwich, Darien, Norwalk, St. Joseph, Stamford, Trinity Catholic, Central, Bassick, Warde and Trumbull, the tournament's only two-time winner. Weston will be joined by fellow SWC member Masuk, the event's defending champion.

Representing the Hudson Valley will be Rye, Mamaroneck, Pleasantville, Ketcham, Scarsdale, Sleepy Hollow, Stepinac, White Plains, Fordham Prep and Iona Prep.

Round-robin games run from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., with the playoffs starting at 1. The finals are scheduled for 4:20 p.m. Each team is assured of at least five games.
