The Patriots did something last week they couldn’t do last season: Beat rival Ketcham in the regular season. They’ve got two matchups with Arlington the slate this week. |
2 | Pearl River | 8-0 | 2 |
The Pirates are surging behind their young and talented lineup. Amanda Hartigan’s walkoff RBI scored Kristyn Neroda in a thrilling 1-0 victory over Tappan Zee on Saturday as Mandy McCarthy pitched a no-hitter. |
3 | Ursuline | 6-1 | 3 |
What a week for junior star Brittany Mitchell. The pitcher tossed a gem in w 2-0 win over Eastchester and then threw a perfect game against White Plains two days later. Ursuline is a serious contender |
4 | Clarsktown South | 6-0 | 6 |
The Vikings have overwhelmed every team they’ve faced so far, outscoring their six opponents by a 86-7 margin. Allie Tobias and Sam McDonald have been almost untouchable at the plate. |
5 | Tappan Zee | 4-1 | 5 |
The Dutchies lost their first game, getting no-hit, but still hold the No. 5 spot in the rankings. There’s no shame in a 1-0 loss to Pearl River, the four-time champs. TZ is poised to knock them off at some point. |
6 | Ketcham | 4-1 | 4 |
There’s no reason to get too discouraged after their loss to defending state champ John Jay-East Fishkill. Ketcham has enough firepower in their lineup to make a serious run. |
7 | Eastchester | 3-1 | 7 |
The Eagles shook off their 2-0 loss to rival Ursuline with an emotional win over Pelham on Thursday. After giving up a game-tying homer in the seventh, Anna Crowley won it with a walkoff RBI. |
8 | Warwick | 6-1 | 8 |
Although they suffered their first loss of the season — a 1-0 defeat to Minisink Valley — Warwick is still a major contender in Section 9. Valley Central (4-0) is the team to beat but Warwick is clearly not far behind. |
9 | Rye Neck | 6-0 | 9 |
Highlighted by a win over Dobbs Ferry, the Panthers are rolling through their schedule. They’ve outscored their opponents 91-7 combined as Jessica Calvini had 47 strikeouts in 29 innings. |
10 | Marlboro | 5-1 | 10 |
Emily McDonough has really settled into her role shifting from shortstop to pitcher this season. Marlboro is only going to get better as time goes by. |
