WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Vic Branciforti picked a great time to be perfect.
The Yorktown senior bowled his first 300 game in the morning session of Tuesday’s Section 1 Bowling Championship at White Plains Bowl.
Branciforti finished his three-game series with a 746 with another series to go in the afternoon. He is currently in first place.
The top three finishers on Tuesday advance to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association tournament.
All game, Branciforti left little down on his throws, with all clearly looking like strikes out of his hand. But on his final roll — with the entire bowling alley crowding around to watch — Branciforti initially thought he missed his mark. He crouched down just as the ball struck the pins, and watched in surprise as they all fell.
Branciforti, who once bowled a 299, credited his time at the Dick Rickers Bowling Camp for his improvement.
