All Riggins did was put together one of the most dominating seasons in recent memory, going a perfect 45-0 capped by a title at the New England meet in March. He was taken down only once all season, and that came late in his 17-9 championship match victory over Somers' Kyle Foster at the State Open.
First Team
106 -- Pascal Medor, Westhill: The senior went 42-5 this season, with four of those losses coming to Danbury standout Kevin Jack. But after second-place finishes at the FCIAC finals, Class LL championship and State Open championship, Medor finally overcame his rival with a 6-2 victory against Jack in the New England Championships.
113 -- Kevin Hall, New Canaan: The junior earned the No 1 seed in the FCIAC tournament before taking second at the league meet. Hall also placed third at the Class L meet.
120 -- Owen Schubert, Brunswick: Only a sophomore, Schubert was the runner-up at the Western New England Independent School Wrestling Association Tournament.
126 -- Henry Wales, Ludlowe: After a second-place showing at the FCIAC meet, the senior followed up that performance with a runner-up finish at the Class L championships.
132 -- Ben Pierre Saint, Stamford: One of the most decorated wrestlers in school history, PIerre Saint will graduate as a two-time FCIAC champion, a two-time Class LL championship and a two-time runner-up at the State Open.
138 -- Joe Battinelli, Stamford: The senior was a semifinalist at the FCIAC championships before placing second in the Class LL meet.
145 -- Clay Callahan, Foran: The junior finished the season with a 44-4 record, winning his weight class at the Class M meet. Callahan also finished third at the SCC championships and won the Farmington Invitatational.
152 -- Kevin Kollar, Warde: Selected All-State and Academic All-State, Kollar was the runner-up at the FCIAC championships and took third at the Class L meet.
160 -- Max Kilpinger, Darien: The top seed at the FCIAC tournament, Kiplinger had a dominating run en route to the league title before placing third at the Class L championships.
171 -- Ryan Whittle, Greenwich: It was an outstanding season for the senior, who finished second at the FCIAC meet, second at the Class LL championships and fifth at the State Open.
182 -- James Heinzman, Warde: The senior was the runner-up at the FCIAC championships, and also second at the Warde Invitational.
195 -- Brandon Riggins, Norwalk: Wrestler of the Year
220 -- Nick Crowle, Fairfield Prep: A sophomore, Crowle finished second at the SCC championships, sixth at the LL meet and was named Academic All-State.
285 -- Tyler Margison, Thomaston: The senior closed out his career by winning a Berkshire League crown and the Class S championship before taking second at the State Open.
