Connecticut boys hockey rankings (3/20)
1. Fairfield Prep (19-3)
The defending Division I champions were denied in their match toward another state title, falling to Glastonbury 5-4 in the semifinals.
2. Ridgefield (21-3)
The recently-crowned FCIAC champs were tripped up by West Haven in the Division I quarterfinals.
3. Brunswick (20-10)
The Bruins fell to second-seeded St. Sebastian's in overtime, 3-2, in the quarterfinals of the NEPSAC tournament.
4. Darien (17-7)
Not even 26 saves by Max Rothston were enough for the Blue Wave in a 3-2 quarterfinal round loss to Glastonbury.
5. St. Joseph (15-8)
Few saw the Cadets' 9-1 loss to Hamden in the state tournament coming.
6. New Canaan (13-9-1)
The Rams' season ended with a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime loss to rival Darien in a Division I first round thriller.
8. Trumbull (15-9)
After skating to the Tier II FCIAC title, the Eagles will face Branford for the CIAC Division II championship on Friday.
8. Wilton (11-12)
The Warriors reached the Division II quarterfinals, but were ousted by Trumbull.
9. Trinity Catholic (9-13)
The Crusaders stayed alive in the Division I state tourney with a 2-1 qualifying round win over Windsor-Farmington-Avon, but then ran into a first-round buzzsaw in Ridgefield.
10. Notre Dame-Fairfield (8-13)
The Lancers fell to North Haven in a 5-4 overtime heartbreaker in a Div I state qualifying contest.
