Livecast primer: FCIAC boys basketball finals

The FCIAC boys basketball finals featuring two perennial powerhouses in second-seeded Trinity Catholic and fourth-seeded Bassick will be live-streamed on MSGVarsity.com on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Crusaders (17-5) advanced to their first league title game in three seasons and eighth this decade with a thrilling 52-44 overtime victory over third-seeded Ridgefield in the semifinals.

Trinity rallied from a 21-9 halftime deficit as Schadrac Casimir (15 points), Paschal Chukwu (12 points) and Kevin Leumene (11) all finished in double figures.

Defending champion Bassick, meanwhile, has been led by the brilliant postseason play of high-flying senior Demetrius Thomas, who poured in a career-high 32 points to go along with 14 rebounds in the Lions' 75-62 victory over city rival Central in the semifinals.

Devin Coleman added 12 points and Russell Jones had 11 for the Lions (17-5), who are aiming for their third league crown in six years.

The contest will premier on MSG Varsity, io Ch. 14, on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
