    Connecticut girls basketball rankings (2/28)

    1. Danbury (24-0)
    Even without injured star center Casey Smith, the Hatters kept their perfect season going and captured the program's first FCIAC title with a 54-39 victory over defending champ Trumbull.

    2. Lauralton Hall (23-1)
    The Crusaders weren't about to settle for second place in the SWC this season, finding their way past Pomperaug 59-54 to claim the league crown.

    3. Trumbull (20-4)
    The Eagles just did get by No. 25 seed Bristol Eastern, 39-37, in the first round of the CIAC Class LL tournament.

    4. Torrington (19-4)
    Aly Otis and the Red Raiders gave top-seeded Holy Cross everything it could handle in the NVL finals before falling 57-54.

    5. Wilton (14-7)
    After falling to eventual champ Danbury in the FCIAC semifinals, the Warriors take on Foran in a Class L first round matchup Tuesday.

    6. Norwalk (16-6)
    The Bears were one of the hottest teams in the region entering the FCIAC tournament, and got back on track with a 48-39 win over South Windsor.

    7. St. Joseph (18-4)
    The Cadets took out FCIAC foe Westhill, 57-47, in a first round Class LL contest.

    8. Thomaston (19-3)
    Maggie Eberhardt had a team-high 17 points as the Bears captured the Berskhire League championship with a 49-41 victory over Wamogo.

    9. Trinity Catholic (14-8)
    Mackenzie Griffin dropped in a career-high 33 points as the Crusaders outscored Kolbe Cathedral 30-7 in the third quarter of Monday's Class M first round matchup.

    10. Watertown (17-5)
    The Indians have a first-round bye in the Class L tournament after finishing off their best regular season in school history with an NVL Brass Division title.
