Rye’s Taka Katsuta began his high school career with a bang, winning back-to-back Section 1 Division 2 titles in 2006 and 2007.
By no means, however, was he sailing the ship. Rather, Katsuta was the consummate role player.
In 2008, he grabbed the wheel and assumed a brand new role — a leading role. Katsuta didn’t disappoint, marching Rye to the brink of a three-peat before losing a heartbreaker to Pelham in the sectional finals.
