    Glenn falls short in state Class B final

    After a string of upsets, Glenn's season came to an end Sunday with a 3-0 loss to Williamsville South in the NYSPHSAA state Class B final. Williamsville South won, 25-16, 25-23, 25-23, to deny Glenn its third state championship in four years.

    Gannon, Wilton lead Kings Park to 4th 'A' crown

    Kings Park defeated South Side, 3-2, at SUNY Old Westbury to win a fourth straight Class A Long Island Championship and the team's 67th straight victory over Long Island competition. Amanda Gannon had 19 kills, 24 digs and three blocks, and Jaclyn Wilton added 16 kills, 23 digs and two aces to lead Kings Park (20-0) in its 24-26, 25-14, 25-17, 24-26, 25-16 win.

    Reimer, Doorhy lead Mattituck to another Class C LIC

    Reimer had 24 kills and four blocks and Doorhy had 26 assists to lead Mattituck to a 3-0 win over East Rockaway for the Long Island Class C championship Sunday at SUNY Old Westbury. The Tuckers won, 25-21, 25-18, 25-18, for their second straight L.I. title and their fourth in five seasons.

    Massapequa holds off Connetquot to win LI 'AA' title

    For Massapequa to get the edge in the fourth game and to ultimately win, 25-17, 25-16, 20-25, 25-22, it had to take advantage of its maturity.
