    1. Long Beach (4-2)

    Last season’s defending state champions returned to Nassau’s Michelino Division, and led by its young defense have only given up 16 goals in six games.

    Next game: Port Washington at Iceworks (Sunday, 3:00 p.m.)

     

    2. Smithtown (11-0)

    The Bulls have run the table in the SCHSHL going a perfect 11-0, including a 13-2 dismantling of Islip.

    Next game: Sachem at The Rinx (Sunday, 6:20 p.m.)

     

    3. St. Anthony’s (1-0)

    The two-time defending CHSAA champion Friars opened its season in convincing fashion two weeks ago with an 8-1 victory over St. Joseph’s.

    Next game: St. Mary’s at Cantiague (Thursday, 4:00 p.m.)

     

    4. Connetquot/Sayville (9-1)

    The T-Birds have outscored its opponents 76-16 this season, and its no surprise after returning eight forwards to the team.

    Next game: Sachem at The Rinx (Wednesday, 9:20 p.m.)

     

    5. Monsignor Farrell (1-1-1)

    Led by forwards Vinny DiMare and Sean Gargin, the Lions are poised to return to the CHSHL Class A final.

    Next: St. Mary’s @ Abe Stark Rink (Sunday, 7:15 p.m.)

     

    6. Massapequa (1-1)

    Last year's defending Michelino Champions are going to have to hold back newcomers and defending state champs, Long Beach. However, with Joey Bochichio and Bobby Oldmixon leading the scoring charge, the Chiefs should be in good hands.

    Next: Port Washington at Bethpage (Wednesday, 7:15 p.m.)

     

    7. Sachem (7-2)

    After dropping its first two games, the Arrows have picked up nicely by winning its next seven, including an impressive 9-4 win over Middle County despite playing just 11 skaters.

    Next game: Connetquot/Sayville at The Rinx (Wednesday, 9:20 p.m.)

     

    8. St. Joseph by the Sea (0-1-2)

    With goaltender Rob Palumbo and sniper Mike Bronzo back, the Vikings should be in the playoff mix again this year.

    Next: Iona Prep @ Abe Stark (Dec. 9, 8:45 p.m.)

     

    9. Fordham Prep (0-1-0)

    The Rams opened their season with a 3-2 loss to Monsignor Farrell on Saturday night.

    Next: Monsignor Farrell @ Rye Playland (Saturday, 4:15 p.m.)

     

    10. East Williston (6-0-1)

    The defending Liberty Division Champs have had no problems in 2011-12 and are bolstered by a strong back-end featuring defenders Jake Levy and Brian Engbarth.
