U.S. Lacrosse team shines back home
The U.S. Men's National Under-19 Team used local stars to strike early and often, defeating a team of Long Island All Stars, 12-4, in an exhibition played at Mitchel Field in Uniondale, N.Y.
The game, which was live on MSG Varsity.com, started out with team U.S. taking a quick 3-1 by the end of the first quarter. Both squads scored once in the second quarter and by halftime it was 4-2, U.S.
At the start of the second half team U.S. scored, making the score 5-2, U.S. Shortly after, U.S. player Michael Tagliaferri scored another goal with an assist from teammate Ryan Tucker.
With just a minute to go, Chaminade High School alum and team U.S. player, Michael Kavangh scored for his team bringing the score at the end of the third quarter to 8-2, U.S.
The Long Island All Stars didn't go down without a fight. In the fourth quarter Shane Thorton scored with an assist from teammate Joseph LoCasio. With under five minutes to go the L.I. All Stars scored another goal making the final score 12-4, U.S.
