The Lions fell to St. Anthony’s (LI) in the final of the CHSAA State Duals at Chaminade Sunday, but the final score – 40-30 – gives coach Lou Destefano reason for optimism. Last year, Farrell lost to the eventual CHSAA state champs, 56-18.

No. 2 Grand Street Campus (12-1)
John Zarcone was like a mad scientist with all the moves he made last week, but every one worked. The Wolves earned a long-awaited win against Brooklyn Tech and captured their second PSAL title last week in Queens.

No. 3 Brooklyn Tech (11-2)
The Engineers dug themselves a hole, but roared back in the heavyweight divisions only to come up short to rival Grand Street Campus, 47-28, in an epic PSAL final.

No. 4 Wingate (15-2)
The Generals fell short of the ultimate goal, but can still hold their heads high after edging Eagle Academy to finish third in the PSAL.

No. 5 Eagle Academy (12-6)
The Eagles might have fallen just short against Wingate, losing 36-34 in the third-place match, but John McGarry’s squad enjoyed a stellar season, proving elite wrestling isn’t exclusive to Brooklyn.

No. 6 Horace Mann (16-3)
Horace Mann improved to 4-0 in Ivy League Prep play with convincing victories against Trinity and Rye Country Day last week.

No. 7 Fordham Prep (13-13)
The Rams opened the weekend with wins against St. Joe’s Collegiate and St. Francis from Buffalo, but then lost to Kellenberg, St. Anthony’s, St. John the Baptist and Chaminade in the CHSAA State Duals.

No. 8 Petrides (10-2)
The Panthers lost to eventual PSAL champion Grand Street Campus in the PSAL quarterfinals before taking second place at the Martin Luther King Invitational. Next up is the Mayors Cup for city bragging rights.

The Golden Knights, which lost a heartbreaker to Eagle Academy in the PSAL quarterfinals, 51-33, will look to bounce back this weekend in the Mayor’s Cup.

No. 10 St. Joseph by the Sea (14-4)
The Vikings split a pair of matches in the CHSAA State Duals Saturday, beating St. Francis (Buffalo) after losing to St. Joe’s Collegiate, also from Buffalo.

No. 11 Poly Prep (1-2)
The Blue Devils fell to Hackley, 38-38, in an Ivy League contest last Wednesday. Poly hopes to bounce back against Trinity before the Mayor’s Cup over the weekend.

The Cougars fell to Brooklyn rival James Madison, 47-30, in a PSAL playoff tiebreaker. They seek revenge this weekend at the Mayor’s Cup.

No. 13 Cardozo (10-1)
The Judges went undefeated to capture the PSAL Queens South division title and knocked off Newtown, 51-30, to reach the city quarterfinals where they would fall to Brooklyn Tech.

No. 14 Tottenville (8-3)
The Pirates were upset by Eagle Academy, 45-42, in the PSAL playoff preliminary round.
